About Us

How edcraft came to be?

Edcraft is a green education project based in Malaysia, initiated in the Multimedia University. With a passion to spread wide awareness of sustainability, the idea of education + crafting brought us here!

Edcraft implements technology and a 2 staged gamified methodology, known as Edcraft Gamified Methodology (EGM) in our online crafting classrooms. Our calling and research focused to cultivate the creativity and intention in recycling among Malaysian youth.

In the year 2020, 2 small scale workshop with 10 participants and a larger workshop involved 57 participants, which sets up the first steps of Edcraft.

Why we do what we do?

Have you ever wondered where the trash goes to other than the dustbin or landfill? Or have you thought about giving these ‘trash’ a new life and extends their life span?

An average plastic item takes around 20-500 years to decompose. Which was longer than the average cat life span (12-18 years). What if the trash from our consumption could even outlive us?

Will our descendants enjoys the nature like we are able to?

Edcraft aims to provide a gamified learning experience for our participants, where we craft with eco-waste and all our creative power, for a better environment.

What backs our purpose?

Edcraft is a research based community project. Find out more about our research!
